For this 89-year-old man, it just so happened that his passion revolves around trains. So, what did he do? After retiring, this former engineer decided that he has had now had the time to do exactly what it was that pleased him the most so he took his skill set and got to the task of constructing this massive train set in his personal vineyard. This is one that you really have got to see to believe as it incorporates so many engineering concepts into one package that ends up being one that works the mind.

In fact, Max Schlienger believes that he’s on the route to the future of transportation. WIRED Magazine even goes as far as comparing Max’s VECTOR system to Elon Musk’s Hyperloop. Instead of blasting a pod of people into high-speed transportation through a tube, though, this will use an entire carriage instead. With all sorts of ideas like this flying in every which way, it’s only a matter of time before we see some major advancements here.
