Big Rig Nearly Clobbers Slow Moving Car Entering Highway, Trucker Handles it Perfectly

If there’s one thing that seems like it needs a little bit more awareness, it would be the idea that bigger vehicles need more time to stop and more distance in between themselves and other motorists to operate safely. Therefore, it’s important and almost our duty as people driving smaller vehicles to make sure that we don’t interfere too much in a way that could be unsafe with those driving big rigs. If everybody kept these kinds of things in mind, we would probably have a much easier and safer time on the highway as all drivers would be able to interact and harmony. Now, back to reality.

This time, it does appear as if it was an innocent mistake, however, this innocent mistake almost was one that caused a ton of damage and potential injury with that damage. However, thanks to a very agile and quick thinking big rig driver, the situation was saved to the best extent that it could possibly be. On this Jacksonville, Florida highway, a 76-year-old driver pulled out from the shoulder and onto the highway pretty slowly as big rig traveling down the highway at highway speeds didn’t have very much time to react, however, as he did, things would get a little bit scary but ultimately ended up panning out for the better, given the situation.

If you follow along with the video below, you’ll check out the dashcam footage as the big rig driver yanks the wheel away from slow-moving motorist, finding his way into the median in where he keeps the massive truck upright and away from damage before somehow managing to enter the highway once again as to not get the truck stuck in the grass.

Via the news report from News 4 Jax, the truck driver said that he’s going to be out of commission for at least a week while the truck gets inspected to make sure that nothing is damaged beyond being safe to operate and it’s unclear if the 76-year-old woman behind the wheel of the car, who was apparently lost, was ticketed or not.
