The Fastest Stick Shift Mustang on the Planet Goes Even Faster

When it comes to the Ford Mustang, there are millions of examples in rotation these days. On the drag strip, there are probably hundreds of thousands around the country, if not more. There is only one driver, though, who can claim the title of the fastest stick shift Mustang in the world.

When it came time to race at the Import versus Domestic World Cup Finals, Yandro Ulloa would take that role and make it even more dominant. With some of these records, we can’t help but be amazed. As the numbers fall, it naturally follows that shock and awe come into the equation. Many times, we can’t wrap our heads around how certain combinations went so fast. This is only followed by the numbers falling even deeper and the race surging on.

The event earlier this month at Maryland International Raceway would be a challenge for Yandro. When push comes to shove, manual transmissions can be fickle in racing. The combo is certainly harder on parts. This is yet another factor that makes these records even more impressive. The Minon wasn’t exempt from that as the car would have both transmission and clutch issues as we got deep into eliminations. However, that didn’t stop Yandro from pushing forward. He was able to snag a 7.51-second pass at 176 mph. This would give him a strong footing in the Mustang record lead and bring him within 2-tenths of the overall RWD stick shift record once again.

By following along with the BigKleib34 video below, we catch the Minion in action. What we have to love most about this car and driver combo is the backstory behind the effort. This isn’t some high dollar operation with a massive trailer filled with tons of extra parts. There isn’t an entire professional crew backing these records. Instead, we watched as the Minion would come to World Cup on an open trailer before snatching those records with a group of friends helping out before heading back home to Miami.
