Father Of The Mustang Lee Iacocca Dead At 94

Many would consider Lee Iacocca to be one of the fathers of American muscle. Having played a critical role in bringing the Ford Mustang to light, he has gone down in the history books forever. That isn’t where his influence on the automotive industry stops, though. Iacocca has also been singled out as one of the people who had helped Chrysler stay afloat in the 1980s when times were tough. At the time, he was the chairman of the company and steered the ship in the right direction. This would give way to decades of innovation to come.

Long story short, those who knew of him realized that he has played a crucial part in American car culture as we know it. There are very few names that are known in households across the world from this industry. We would venture to say that Iacocca had definitely become one of them.

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, Lee Iacocca has been reported dead at the age of 94. TMZ reports that the news was brought to their attention by a family member who didn’t provide any further details.

If you ask us, we definitely have to admit that Iacocca provided more than his fair share of impact on the automotive community. We would also venture to say that he had accomplished more in his 94 years on Earth than most ever will. Times have certainly changed from when Lee was in his prime. It’s hard to argue that he certainly laid the groundwork for everything that we have had moving forward. Iacocca helped make the automotive industry a place to strive.

At a time like this, it’s hard not to be hit a little bit by sadness. After all, we have lost an icon. However, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude as well. We’re sincerely grateful for all that this man has done for our community.
