Secret Stockpile of Movie Cars Reveals Some Unexpected Gems

As Americans, we have this connection with movies that’s really ingrained in our culture. Ever since the rise of Hollywood, the entire country seems to have been entranced by the creations from the West Coast. Not only do we get lost in the stories presented on the screen. We also can’t help but fall in love with the mystique that comes from Hollywood itself.

As gearheads, naturally, some of our favorite movies are car-related. Even in those flicks that aren’t directly about the automotive community, we can sometimes find cars or trucks within these movies that we simply fall in love with. In fact, we would go so far as to say that vehicle selection in a film can make or break it. With that, we find some of these machines are simply unforgettable.

So, what exactly happens to a movie car after it leaves the film set? Naturally, unless there’s a sequel, it can’t be used again without being completely repurposed. Even if there is a sequel, many times, new cars will be built in order to create new films.

Therefore, when specific movie cars end up being pulled out of the rotation of use, they end up in various collections around the world. This time, we check out what might just be one of the biggest movie car collections to be found anywhere. The facility storing these sought after rides is known as “The Velvet Collection Car Museum.”

This time, thanks to The Carpetbagger on YouTube, we’re able to take a little bit of a tour of the museum to see what’s up with this secret stash. The collection involves all sorts of different rides from every corner of film and television. We see everything from Back to the Future all the way to The Fast and the Furious represented in the collection. There are even some more recent pieces like a couple of machines that were featured in Stranger Things.

At the end of the day, lots of these cars just have a way of speaking to us. Which one of them speaks loudest to you?
