Tesla Tug-of-War: Can the Model X Take Out an F-250?

When the Tesla Cybertruck was unveiled, it certainly sent shockwaves through the community. The vehicle was completely new and off-the-wall. From design to functionality, the Cybertruck digs into a whole bunch of different categories that give us a lot to unpackage.

However, beyond its functionality, the truck’s unveiling provided some rather interesting things to chew on. Perhaps one of the noteworthy tactics was how the vehicle was put head-to-head with a gasoline-powered pickup truck in a tug-of-war.

In response to the battle, people claimed that the opposition wasn’t really a fair matchup. The electric-powered Cybertruck easily overpowered a Ford F-150. With a massive weight difference, spectators concluded that the Cybertruck should easily take home the victory and that the test didn’t mean much. Some would also speculate that the Ford only putting power to the rear wheels wasn’t fair, either.

Now, it’s impossible for just about anybody not named “Elon Musk” to get their hands on a Cybertruck. In fact, we’re going to be waiting for quite some time for it to make its official debut. However, we can try out the next best thing with what Tesla already has on the market.

In this one, we take a look at how the Tesla Model X does in a similar situation. It looks like The Fast Lane took the liberty of evening out the competition, too. While the Cybertruck promises to be a beast all its own, the Model X shares some similar qualities. For example, pretty much every electric vehicle is going to be a bit heavier than the others in its class. Batteries are rather bulky and give them an advantage in such situations. In addition, the Model X sends power to all the wheels.

In this particular situation, we see if the Model X will be able to overcome the likes of the Ford F-250 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

At the end of the day, we aren’t necessarily sure if a tug-of-war really proves all that much. However, it’s rather interesting to see how these competitors stack up against one another.
