When you are out and about in utility mode, using your trailer to tug along whatever it is that needs to get from A to B, the task might seem simple enough but there are many intricacies that could make the job much easier or much harder.
If your load is too far forward, it could put too much weight on the tongue of the trailer, wreaking havoc on your tow rig’s suspension but when shifted too far to the rear, the weight of the load could cause a swaying effect which, as you can probably imagine, sets up a whole new group of obstacles and problems.
This time, we are shown a demonstration that gives off a helpful visual of just how important the location of what you are pulling really is.
Check out the video below that shows how putting your weight in the wrong place could spell out either an incredibly uncomfortable ride or maybe even disaster.
A fascinating short video on why weight distribution matters so much for trailers. This is the season where many boats will be trailered to their winter storage location. Well worth knowing what could happen with big outboards on the back.(video credit @OPCVC)
