It almost seems like sacrilege to put anything except an all-American v8 under the hood of a classic muscle car like a 1968 Ford Mustang, but we recently reported the electric swapped Chevrolet Corvette, so I suppose that we will give this one a crack as well.
This time, we ride along with Translogic to Austin, TX to get a load of Zombie 222, an all-electric Ford Mustang that might just deliver a bit of a shock – no pun intended.
Even though gas savings and tree hugging are probably the first two things that come to your head when it comes to an electric vehicle, the likes of the Tesla have shown us that couldn’t be further from the truth.
With a whopping 800 hp and massive gobs of torque, this thing promises to be a wild ride, much wilder than any of the original powerplants sported by the 68 by a long shot.
Having that much instantaneous torque at your hands is probably enough to send the Earth spinning in the opposite direction and you can almost feel said torque with one look at the presenter’s face!
Check out the video below that attempts to convey how badass an electric car like the Zombie 222 as converted by Mitch Medford and the team at Blood Shed Motorsports can really be.
