Turning a Shop Into the Ultimate Hot Wheels Track is Our Favorite Quarantine Project

As we sit here in early April, waiting for racing to come back, quarantine is forcing us to find new ways to entertain ourselves. I know that I speak for more than just myself when I say that I’ve been getting rather creative. In fact, as it turns out, professional drag racer, Alex Laughlin has been getting rather creative himself.

In a world where we can’t play with real cars, sometimes, Hot Wheels might be able to fill that void. In order to satiate his need for speed, Alex got a little bit creative with some Hot Wheels track. Instead of just setting up a normal length of tract, Laughlin decided to go above and beyond. In this one, we watch as he builds 275 feet of diecast racing surface throughout his garage.

This track features 6 boosters and several loops. It also brings lots of elevation changes to the table to mix things up. The track that zips around the garage, though full-size cars, and other obstacles and took 15 hours to construct. We would venture to think that there aren’t too many tracks that even come close to the magnitude of awesome that this one brings the table.

In fact, the only one that comes to mind is the record-setter by Joey Logano. Who knows? If this quarantine goes on much longer, perhaps Laughlin will be taking a shot at that record as well.
